Q. Can I e-mail Dr. Salter to explain the handouts?
A. No. The handouts are not intended to stand alone. They are part of Dr. Salter’s workshop presentations and many of them require extensive comment. Time doesn’t permit Dr. Salter to explain them via e-mail.
Q. Will Dr. Salter consult on cases?
A. When time permits, she consults on cases. However, you would need to contact her and make arrangements. She tries not to answer questions about cases based on brief e-mail descriptions. Her concern is that an answer based on limited information might be misleading as it would not necessarily take into account all the facts.
Q. What do I do if I don’t hear back from Dr. Salter right away?
A. Assume she is traveling and doesn’t have access to her e-mail. Dr. Salter can get back to most people within a week or two, but not necessarily within 24 hours.
Q. If I want Dr. Salter to do a training or presentation, how much in advance do I need to contact her?
A. A year is generally safe. Six months often works. Less than six months notice often doesn’t work but you are welcome to contact her and see. Fall and spring are the busiest times for conferences so less notice is needed for summer and winter.
Q. What are Dr. Salter’s fees for speaking or testifying?
A. Contact her directly via e-mail for information on fees.
Q. Am I free to use the Polygraph Disclosure Questionnaire?
A. Yes, you are free to print and use the Polygraph Disclosure Questionnaire. Dr. Salter would appreciate it if you would cite its source, however.
Q. Can I change and tailor the Polygraph Disclosure Questionnaire for my particular needs?
A. Yes, feel free to adapt it as necessary.
Q. Can the Polygraph Disclosure Questionnaire be used without the polygraph?
A. Yes, the questionnaire is frequently used simply as a self-report method of obtaining a history of sexual offenses. However, it is obvious that any time you are using self report without a polygraph back-up, you have to make a judgment about the accuracy of the information obtained.
